Christina is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of West Virginia, and provides in-person sessions to adults in the surrounding areas of Clarksburg, and virtual sessions to adults with a West Virginia residence. She graduated from Alderson-Broaddus College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Family Studies, and from Waynesburg University in 2012 with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, with an emphasis on Addictions Counseling. Since 2010, Christina has been working with adults who experience a variety of concerns, such as severe mental illness, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship concerns, parenting difficulties, childhood and adult trauma, substance use/abuse, relapse prevention, suicidal ideation, anger management, family conflict, and legal problems.
Christina uses a laid-back, conversational and person-centered approach to her therapy, while using techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Relapse Prevention, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma Informed Care interventions. She believes that a trusting relationship between the client and therapist is crucial in building rapport, and likes to create a safe space for her clients to feel comfortable opening up about the most difficult and sensitive topics in their life. She is passionate about helping others identify their current stressors, triggers and conflicts in order to develop healthier coping strategies to improve overall quality of life.
In her free time, Christina enjoys being creative with crochet, cross stitch, and putting together Legos; spending time with her family; going trail riding in her Jeep, and being outdoors such as going camping, hiking and fishing, and having random campfires in her backyard. Christina has several pets that include a golden retriever, a golden doodle, a cat, and several exotic geckos.
